Gerry Monteux has spent the better part of six decades working and playing on Taunton Bay, having roots in the area which reach back nearly a hundred years.  Roughly ten years ago, he changed professions and now makes his living as a wildlife photographer and gallery owner in the town of Hancock.  He currently acts as Vice President of Friends of Taunton Bay, and counts protecting the bay as one of his lifelong goals and lasting legacies.  And yes – he counts the Harbor Seals as his neighbors and friends!

Frank Dorsey, Franklin, ME

Retired biostatistician who has lived on Taunton Bay with his wife, Mary Beth, for more than 20 years. Over that period he has annually counted horseshoe crabs who mate on Shipyard Point. on Taunton Bay. He has served several offices for Friends of Taunton Bay; as a Hancock County advisor for the Maine Community Foundation; as a board member for Frenchman Bay Conservancy. Frank and Mary Beth have seven grandchildren, one of whom claims, “You have the best backyard in the whole world!” PhD Biostatistics, BA English 

Catherine Fox, Ellsworth, ME

Freelance editor for scholarly and academic presses specializing in archaeology/anthropology. MA History/anthropology, MS Resource Economics. Member Maine Archaeological Society and Maine Historical Society.
